YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED
HOW TALL IS WALID?
+I’m 171 cm and compete in the -66KG category.
WHEN DID walid START STREETLIFTING?
+Walid started training in 2015, beginning with bodyweight training and focusing primarily on endurance. Over the years, he gradually introduced additional weight into his training, progressing from bodyweight endurance to weighted endurance before moving towards pure strength. Since 2021, he has specialised exclusively in streetlifting competitions, focusing on performance and maximal strength.
WHICH MPDS movement COULD walid NEVER GIVE UP?
+Walid enjoys all four streetlifting movements and doesn’t have a true favourite, as his goal is to become the most complete athlete possible. His mindset has always been about more than excelling in a single movement; it’s about developing every quality needed to become a well-rounded athlete. If he had to choose, though, he would find it difficult to decide between the muscle-up and the dip. Ultimately, he believes all four movements are essential to achieving his goal.
What is walid's greatest achievement in streetlifting?
+Walid’s greatest achievement is proving that it is possible to return to the highest level despite adversity. In 2023, a motorcycle accident, involving one of his greatest passions, prevented him from competing at the World Championships and forced him to undergo surgery and practically start from scratch. Despite everything, he managed to return to the international stage even more competitive than before, re-establishing himself among the top athletes in the -66 kg category.
WHAT'S WALID'S BIGGEST PR?
+Walid’s biggest PR to date is his 473.75 kg total at the European Championships, which earned him the European title and put him at the top of the world rankings in the -66 kg category. However, Walid knows he still has plenty of potential to unlock, and his next goal is to reach a 500 kg total in the same weight class.
What advice do you give to upcoming streetlifters?
+Walid’s advice is simple: trust the process, stay disciplined, and never give up. He firmly believes that if another human being has achieved something, there is no reason why someone else couldn’t achieve the same, or even go beyond it. Keep your head up, stay consistent, and believe in your own abilities. For Walid, it all starts with the right mindset: if someone else has done it, why can’t you? Trust the process.
WHAT MOTIVATES Walid?
+Walid is driven by the desire to be the best, break records, and push beyond every possible limit. He believes that the only limits are the ones people set for themselves, and that with the right mindset, dedication, and consistency, it is possible to achieve things that once seemed unimaginable. For him, it’s not just about getting stronger, but about discovering how far human potential can truly go.
when DID Walid JOIN TEAM MPDS?
+Walid joined Team MPDS in 2025, following the World Championships. It marked a new step in his athletic journey, joining a team that shares his ambition, mindset, and drive to constantly push beyond his limits.
