How did these athletes set those streetlifting records?
Setting those streetlifting records obviously isn’t going to be easy. A lot of things have to go right in order to be able to achieve these amazing feats.
To point you in the right direction, we can look at a couple crucial conditions that will lead to even having an opportunity to set one of those records one day.
If you ask any of the above record setters what they do to be able to perform at the highest level, you will undoubtedly hear every one of those points:
· Use sleeves: First of all, it’s a great start to never forget to use the right, professional sleeves. We are then talking about elbow sleeves and knee sleeves. It has been proven over and over again that these are able to provide much more support and stability when performing the specific streetlifting exercises. For example, the give you much more movement control. This will lead to an enhanced, overall better performance in dips, pull-ups, squats and even muscle ups.
· Specific streetlifting shoes: At the same time, you definitely shouldn’t forget about the shoes. There are streetlifting shoes that were designed in detail, specifically for streetlifting competition. They are ultra-light, comfortable and come without laces. Thanks to a powerful anti-slip mechanism they let you perform at the highest level possible. Streetlifting shoes provide everything you seek in a shoe to help you set new records!
· Progressive overload training: Another aspect that every record setter will agree on, is the need to incorporate the progressive overload training method into the training schedule. Because of this, you will avoid hitting a ‘plateau’ in muscle mass and strength. In other words, you have to increase the weight step by step so your muscles never get used to it. Slightly challenging yourself will provide better and better results (and give you a real shot at breaking a record).
· Competitive spirit: Last but definitely not least is a competitive spirit. If you really want to perform well in a competitive environment, you’re going to need a competitive spirit. You have to want to outperform other people. Because of this mindset, you’re going to be able to go one step further than everybody else. Are you finding out that you’re competitive spirit is quite strong? Then you might just have a chance at breaking one of the before mentioned records!
When you read these points, one thing becomes very clear; in principal it’s possible for every single person to follow them. Is it going to be easy to break one of the world records? Of course not. That’s not what we’re saying.
But the fact that there’s a small chance that one day you’ll be able to, if you follow the right steps, is already incredibly motivating.
These are exciting times for every worldwide fan of streetlifting. Take part in this growing hype and see for yourself how far you’re going to come in your journey!
